Countdown: A year in review ~ 2013 in a few days!

Okay ... call me strange but yes, that sudden realization that the New Year is quite literally upon us.

First off; I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I had fun on my end but I was so busy too. I still feel busy but I guess its because technically it is the holidays.

What did I do? Well it started off at midnight before going to the local diner. From there, made the rest of my desserts I was planning to bring to two parties. After finding out one of my holiday drawings ended up being posted on the gaming facebook page, I posted the rest of my holiday themed drawings. From there, I finally got some rest for a few hours before getting up & getting ready. I went to the first Christmas party at 10am. It was fun, had food & then the white elephant gift exchange. From there, played Munchkin Impossible before heading back home. Getting the other gifts, food & alcohol to bring to the other party that started around 1pm. Finally got home after food, drink, white elephant gift exchange there & more Munchkin card games before finally getting home & passing out. I really didn't expect any gifts outside of that but I did.

Picking up some extra gifts & cash - decided to cave in & got myself a usb keyboard for my laptop because my keyboard on my laptop was already wearing down & new headphones because my headphones of 4-5yrs+ was starting to wear down too. Since now everything is set up; I'm rather content with things for now, but I'm looking to clean & tidy up the room, make sure all clothes have either been washed or put away before the new year...call it a silly little superstition I have.

Anyways, I do have every intention to some scheduled livestream today so I will post when that will be. I've already livestream early this week for about a couple of hours but I will be adding more to it. I imagine for this livestream schedule, it'll be a bit of a New Year's drawing theme...maybe. We'll see how that will go & working on some art trades/commissions too depending. So I shall leave it on that note & wish everyone well, stay safe these holidays!

Twas days before Christmas & all through the house; 

not a creature was stirring, 

not even the non-existent mouse. 

All Christmas decorations were hung delicately with care, 

while cooking a batch of chocolate chip cookies to offer to Santa,

Cuz I like to share.

Next thing I know it will soon be here;

Christmas will arrive - we've survived our apocalyptic day,

2nd posting this week - having a little fun with the little meme stuff. I can't believe Christmas is only a couple of days away already. I've been quite busy myself & I admit; I feel tired. I'm not quite sure on why. Let's see what to discuss about this past week.

I started off this week watching The Hobbit. No worries; I won't reveal any spoilers. Overall - it was a good movie so far. I'm intrigued to see how they'll expand on this little book into 3 sections. 

In the midsts of trying to get some festive Christmas drawings done. I'm not quite sure if I'll get them done. They look lovely but ehhh oh well. I've done some on the spot livestreaming to show some coloring to some that I have done. I hope I'll finish; just this past couple of days - I haven't & I'll explain why. 

So; my cousin/sis is preparing & in due time she'll be out; during Christmas out of all days. Either way; as sad that this is happening - I have completely faith that she'll do fine & be fine. I'm gonna try to do as much as I can for her during her long departure. Even though she's been preparing from now until Christmas - we made some time to have a pre-Christmas / New Year / Birthday by having all you can eat for 2hrs korean BBQ. Talked, she told me her past ongoings for the past month or so & then ended by having dessert over at a diner.

After that; met up with more family to find out where the Christmas Party is going & where did I end up going to? More Korean BBQ. Oi xD; I shouldn't complain. It was good, it was at a different place but still. So I think I'm going to 2 Christmas parties on Christmas Day.

Anyways - I do have every intention to livestream today; but I have a lot of errands to run. So on that note - take care & stay safe for now :)!

Countdown: A year in review ~ last week's thoughts

So last week; I guess is quite an interesting topic within itself. I'll try my best not to go on some tyrannical rant as best I can - considering all things that have been said.

So trying to go in chronological order:

I have updated & fixed up my deviantART account in general; prettying it up since I have extended my premium for 2 years thanks to MiloBear at deviantART. Fixing my list of collective things I've been or working on. Not to mention linking commission stuff & my livestream status too. I'll try to be mindful of updating that as much as I can.

And due to the responses or lack of it - I'll try to post an agenda of sorts on my journal; putting up what I'm planning to do, that sort & try to contact folks before I start livestreaming. A little more prepping but its fine; I'm getting a better idea so I shall try to do my best - no promises.

Oh; not to mention - I did add some other links, joining pinterest & another art community such & such. Feel free to follow me there too; I don't mind :).

Even though I do have a commission still lingering & a project on hold cuz I have no idea what's going on & my contacts had been killed so I have no idea on where to contact'em. My printer has been acting funny, I think I need to update drivers but the OS on that computer so I am trying to repair that regardless (before someone says why don't I keep the printer or have a scanner in my room, I have no room to put that anywhere). Not to mention; I pro'ally need to contact them & see if they're still interested since I've been postponing due to all these malfunctions (not to mention I haven't even posted an outline to see its ok - must note to self on that). So in the meantime I shall trudge through these current requests, art trades & lost prior commitments from my other dA account & at the same time try to draw some festive holiday drawings to round things out.

Don't get me wrong; trying to correct that little error & I don't mind doing requests if people are willing to wait; but more paid commissions wouldn't hurt. So just throwing that out there & or donations to help further along art projects & such.

I have a lot of stuff in queue persay to still post & I have every intention to post them soon.

Anyways enough of that - seeing what's been going on in the world. I'm rather at shock of all the madness that seemingly decided to happen. Respectively out of all that; I took a day to not really do much; post or my planned livestream. Just all of it took the wind out of me; lost the gumption & wanting to do what I planned. A little disgusted over it & tried not to over-saturate myself of news factoids (cuz too much of it just made me feel more winded & sick to my stomach) but mainly out of respect & sympathizing/empathizing over all of it - I chose to just step back in a form of solidarity silence. So no outcry of what should be done or pointing fingers, not even asking or analyzing why; the time & place for that can be done much later & what should be done now can only be done collectively by those that are or have been involved & we as a society that watches the event unfold can only find ways to reach out by prayer or help in some sort of way for the loses to try & be a little easier on them; especially since it is the holidays.

So thus concludes this week & I'll pro'ally be ranting a little more the end of this week too so less to really post & subconsciously make up for yesterday. Hopefully nothing catastrophic happens from now until the end of this week. So enjoy, cherish & hug that special someone a little tighter. Happy Holidays ~

CherBear's Aspirations: December 2012

Happy December!

The end of the year is quickly approaching & strangely, I must admit, it feels a bit short. Now, do I believe in this Mayan calender thing? I won't say but I'll keep my optimism up & treat each day like how I've been handling the past days of this year & the years before that with their respective 'prophecies'.

Personally - I still have plenty on my plate; still looking to move forward as much as I can but with red tape everywhere, I can only progress so much.

Other than that; I've stepped back into the joys of cooking & experimented here 'n there but not to mention; made some reliable recipes but taste just as good as I remembered.

I've already heard of what happened & saw the game City of Heroes shut down November 30th. A good game with fond memories, hopefully, those that I've made friends; I'll find a way to meet back up with them somehow on the internet.

Its been touch & go with my physical art stuff mainly because I immersed back into my artwork stuff. Attempting to not neglect any requests, art trades, commissions & such. Unfortunately; no commissions, but plenty of requests & art trades with hopefully patient people that'll wait 'til their done. Especially since I decided to participate in other contests for fun. Oh! I haven't really done any in-game drawings but I haven't managed to do any mainly because I've been also researching accordingly; always wanting & striving to improve as much as I can. Especially since I've been talking to others & building on top of that. As well as I've been keeping up on my Saturday night livestream.

Thankfully; I haven't had any bad malfunctions or laptop behaving badly or misbehaving.

Anyways, even though I'm still recovering. I've been doing as much as I can but at a leisurely pace. I have other things I'm looking to do but looking over the requirements; I realize I have to put a little bit more thought on what I may do. Now don't forget; I do take commissions, requests sure but warning, you will have to wait & art trades are okay. Any additional donations to help fund my artwork are always appreciated. I've been tinkering on some new stuff in terms of coloring & drawing, working on some contest stuff then hopefully get back to working on those requests.

A Thanksgiving wrap up - food & shopping aftermath

First off -

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. whether it was spending time with family or really good friends while having your fill of turkey, pie, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, the usual Thanksgiving spread, etc. I think I have even though I gave up on one plate & just randomly snacked on dessert items & drank. Easily enough - that food coma was quite easy to get into. Food wise, it was another year of contributing so yes - that means cooking. I ended up doing this whole 'bacon explosion'; which boils down to having 2lbs of bacon & ground pork rolled up into a log; baked first then broiled to get the bacon exterior crispy - one word can sum that up; delectable. Lechon Kawali; 5lbs of basically boiled then broiled (normally fried) pork belly & smores bars; that consisted of golden graham cereal & mini marshmellows mixed with melted chocolate/marshmellow. Threw in some alcohol too. All either had ended up being eaten or taken home - more or less a comforting success.

For all those who dare stepped into the madness which is known as Black Friday. Kudos. Hopefully - you got everything you wanted & wanted to give for Christmas. For those who haven't (most likely like me) are just gonna pro'ally do the whole online shopping at the very latest - Cyber Monday & get that done then.

Through out this week though - I've either been productive, lazy or busy this week; it couldn't be helped.

My lull moments consisted of changing design layouts; whether its on my art sites or forums - I was compelled to go that far to do a lil tinkering here & there.

Art wise: I have been participating in some contests, whether its on here or on the forum boards. I've been prioritizing on what needs to be done first. The end result of all this creativity that's still very much keeping me productive.

Overall;
No laptop or computer crashes. Changing design layouts have had me considering whether I should create my own customized background stuff eventually. Having to work on some of these contest stuff have changed & shifted my artistic style yet again. Some chatting with some other artists have had me to consider looking up new brushes & color palettes to download too. Other than that - I've been feeling sore, tender & achy - yet I'm not sick. Hopefully I'll recover from this sooner than later.

Approaching Thanksgiving ~ thoughts for the week

Thanksgiving is coming up quickly -  I have plenty to be thankful for so far.

As I had mentioned, wayner8088 at deviantART had already generously donated & extended my deviantART premium membership for 3 more months.

MiloBear at deviantART had donated enough points & asked me kindly to extend my deviantART premium membership for a year & since they're giving the whole buy 12 months, get an additional 12 months, its been extended for 24 months in total.

So safe to say, I'm set for quite a while & I am forever thankful for their kindness & generosity. Hopefully whenever my luck & situation turns around, I'll be able to return that sort of kindness & generosity to other people too.

I'm also feeling very good at the pace of finishing up requested / art trades that have been long queued in wait (and maybe a waiting commission? I'm not sure if that's still going on but I haven't forgotten!). I'm aiming to finish up my short term goal this year & it looks very good that I'll be able to finish with a month to go.

Either way, even though I have that short term goal of finishing my request/commission/art trades etc. & posting them up this year I am still very much interested in picking up more. The reason why I'm so amp'd 'bout finishing is because there have been some kind & patient people that have been waiting for over 2yrs+. I have every intention of since I started something, I want to finish what I have started.

Not to mention, any kind & generous souls that like to help continue donating to help me continue to fuel this hobby & passion since I'm still in this life situation predicament. I'm noticing I need to get some sort of generated additional income to replace a slowly dying/malfunctioning laptop keyboard & my only option is starting to look like replacing it. I've been getting by for now but its a matter of time before the keys on my keyboard laptop completely stop functioning altogether. Maybe that should be my christmas wishlist...like a bear keyboard I saw online haha.

Anyways, either way - thanks to those who have been, kind, sweet & generous. Its made a lasting impression & I hope to somehow return that to others in the long run. Thoughts for the week ~

Greetings & salutations, reaching the end of the week & closing it up with livestream sometime today...maybe. At least that is the tentative plan for today. Lots to chatter about, the week has had its highs & lows.

So roaming around my stomping grounds, I've been participating in beer week. Yes, I am of legal drinking age & its my first time to participate in this event. Trying some beers, especially since there are a lot of beer crafters that do what they love. Even though I've had some favorites, I had been adventurous to try out the following:

Regular Speedway Stout (Not bad.)

Coconut and vanilla (Surprisingly delightful.)

Peanut Butter & cocao nibs (I had a Karl Strauss version, I think that one is a lil better than this one.)

Cocao nibs and vanilla bean (Enjoyed it.)

Single variety coffee - Kauai Reserve home roasted by AleSmith brewer Bill Batten (I liked it, smells like coffee!)

Mint chocolate (Really good.)

Licorice (You'd really have to like licorice to enjoy this one.)

Nutella (YUM!)

Pistachio (Very nutty.)

Dried sour cherries (Pretty good.)

Fresh cherries w/Jack Daniels oakchips (Not bad too.)

Hatch chilis (If you're not into spicy, this isn't for you. This has BITE.)

Pumpkin spicing (Smooth & pleasant.)

Ginger, nutmeg, allspice (Not bad either.)

Cocao nibs, vanilla, oak, & Irish whiskey (Yummy.)

And of course, the Kopi Luwak, aka Weasal Poo Speedway (Coffee smellin' too, pretty good but the other one is better I think.)

My favorite? The nutella beer of course! One thing they didn't list that I found utterly baffling is a cucumber one, it smelled like cucumber & tasted like it but it is very much a beer.

Other than that, yes, I am completely aware of the election that passed & I am not gonna go into that. Its one of my many personal things I stand by & refuse to talk to random people about. All I will say is at least the political ads have finally stopped until the next election, so uh yay?

Starting off the week, I did go see wreck it ralph. Preventing myself from spewing out any spoilers, I did totally enjoy it. Retro or modern, anyone & everyone I see can enjoy this movie. The soundtrack is catchy & I simply  adored it.

I'd have to mention offhand, the weather has been peculiar too, its been hot earlier this week, now its cold & raining. I'm not complaining 'bout the cold & raining, its just, I have a hard time adjusting to the weather shifts like that. Hopefully, I won't get sick.

Anyways, I'm still very much posting more stuff up, soon I'll have short term goal fulfilled by the end of this year & I'm happy. Going back to some drawing ideas I'd still like to hatch out & draw. Still gonna shamelessly plug in, livestream usually scheduled every Saturday & random moments throughout the week, including in-game sketching.
