As the story goes...

Once a upon a time...

I've been admittingly in a standstill with the creative process with summer quickly approaching. I have a lot to prepare with Comic Con & guests coming over. Not to mention my prior documentation of my odd sleep shift schedule has thrown me for a loop. Perhaps is for the better but I hope to remedy this sometime soon.

-----

Anyways! I've been in the midsts of working on a fan fiction story for a while & with the help my very good friend, we've been working on the scenarios, plot line & direction of the story. Which explains my artistic standstill. With the close knit group I have, exchanging the ideas & seeing how they initially react, its been positive so far & with the creative group support behind me. I'm a little more sure & certain on where to go with it. Either way, I'll be sure to include more details when this is more uh final.

Sleep shifting ...

...Zzzzz...

I don't know if this has happened to anyone recently. My sleep schedule has shifted again. For once...its what some folks may deep to be normal with sleeping by midnight and starting around 6-7am. Very unlikely for me but now the day just seems longer & drawn out. Might just be me. It may be a good thing, may be a bad thing. Not quite sure...either way...I've been in such of a contemplative mood...that it shook me out of my drawing. I hope to get back into it soon.

Certainty ...

Bwah?!

I'm almost certain drama never really intends to follow people. Yet watching forums chat about the most random things to the current & up-to-date, you can't help but wonder sometimes, just sometimes ... are they doing this on purpose? Maybe, just maybe these folks thrive on drama to make life a little more interesting. If so ... I guess I'm not better & just as guilty as the rest of them ... I just don't actively look for it. Either way ... this feeling of being mundane with the day to day kind of feeling is too quiet for my liking. Back to the drawing board I guess.

SD County Fair 2011 Preview

So . . . .

Wandering around various social networking sites, one of my friends told me about the announcement SD County Fair is making for new foods for 2011.

-----

Last year was a blast going with some friends. Had tried some crazy fried foods which was pretty good, utterly fulfilling & just crazy in general. Trying the following:

  • Pork chop on a stick
  • Deep fried cheeseburger with bacon
  • Deep fried butter
  • Chocolate dipped bacon
  • Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich
  • Deep fried Klondike Bar
  • Deep fried Australian Potato chips w/ ranch & cheese
  • Funnel Cake
  • Deep fried oreos
  • Deep fried smores
  • Deep fried snickers
  • Dreamsicle
  • Caramel Candied Apple
  • Caramel Apple
  • Cotton Candy
  • Fresh Squeezed Frozen Lemonade

Did I eat these all alone? Of course not! I shared between me & my two friends. Regardless of that being split 3 ways, that was really fulfilling for all that fried dough food. With that being said, here's what is showing up for SD County Fair 2011 ~

New Food

Healthier Fare:
• Calamari Stand: Blue Mussels
• Pat's Pizza on the Concourse: Oven Baked Sandwiches

• Deep-Fried, Chocolate-Covered Bacon (a new twist on a formerly new food)
• Deep-Fried Pigs in a Blanket
• Chocolate-Covered Corn Dog

Chicken Charlie's near AgriFair:
• Fry BBQ Ribs
• Deep-Fried Koolaid
• Deep-Fried Brownie
• Deep-Fried Girl Scout Cookies

Del Mar Diner in Plaza de México:
• "Cornucopia!" - Deep-Fried Corn on the Cob
• "Hash Dog" - Crispy Golden Hash Brown Corn Dog
• "Sweet Dog" - Tasty Sweet Potato Corn Dog

And More Deep-Fried Delicacies:

• Juicy's: Deep-Fried Beef Jerky
• Funnel Cake Express: Deep-Fried Candy Kabob
• Mexican Funnel Cake Stand: Deep-Fried, Baby-Ruth-Filled Jalapeños

New Food Booths:
Pink's is coming to the Fair! Located outside Bing Crosby Hall, this Hollywood legend (since 1939) will be serving up their famous hot dogs, such as the "Rosie O'Donnell Dog", a 7-inch Hoffy all-beef hot dog topped with mustard, onions, chili and sauerkraut; and the "Martha Stewart Dog," a 7-inch Hoffy all-beef hot dog topped with relish, onions, bacon, chopped tomatoes, sauerkraut and sour cream. Also, Polish Dogs, chili dogs and many more!

Everything Cheese, a kid-friendly booth in the Infield near Kiddieland, with kid-sized pizzas, mac and cheese cups, deep-fried cheese curds, mozzarella sticks, grilled cheese sandwiches, baby carrots with ranch dressing, celery sticks and juice boxes, plus much more.

With that being said...who'd be willing to try what? O_O?!

Blizzarata

Blizzarata - Just an odd way to start a day ~ by sharing links to friends about WoW. Hah

Fall programming coming to a close ...

Hum ... I'd be willing to watch this ...

Well with 2010's fall line up coming to an end with shows I have watched. Guess time to throw in my two cents of mental notes of what I thought of it.

As I had mentioned earlier, I was a bit disappointed with how things drew to an end for some of the shows. Maybe I'm not liking the typical cliche cliffhanger ending. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I'm just growing tired of it myself.

Monday:
  • Chuck - Chuck vs. the Cliffhanger. I'm honestly a bit torn by this only because the season overall felt -- rushed. Especially for the final season finale. Comparing this to the last season, I actually like the last season more & half way through this season was tolerable. The bad guys seemed a little rushed through, how could Vivian easily forgive her father like that? What did the attorney exactly say to convince Vivian to do what she did? With the jumps of before the wedding & what Chuck had to go through was semi-admirable, just felt something was lacking -- like for some odd reason I was left with a dry distasteful feeling in my mouth.
  • How I Met Your Mother - I surprisingly didn't mind how it was ending, even though part of me felt they were dragging on considering they've been renewed for two more seasons what oddball story can they include within a father's ramblings before getting straight to the point. I had to think, "well there's two points the father hasn't gotten to yet, who is the mother *obviously* & who does Barney end up with? By the end of this season, it all makes sense. So fairly content.
  • Mad Love - Strangely cute for a short sitcom series to be picked up. The characters were actually quite lovable & funny. It felt like it was a coming of age for folks near their late 20s & the woes of relationship. Though I'm not too surprised with where there was one love relationship, there was a hate relationship that pretty much disguised the psuedo "Hi I like you. *insert punch*" reminiscent of playground like love. Too bad this was only one season & got canceled, would've actually like to see where it would've went considering how it ended.
  • *Bleep* My Dad Says - Ended all too short which was a show that did rather grow on you. Considering the history behind it & how the show came to be, how it ended was really rather unfortunate considering that it didn't get picked up for another season. Either way...it was good while it lasted, best of luck to the guy.
Thursday:

  • Bones - Perhaps one of the few season endings that has redeemed my faith in fall season line up. Seeing how the development from the last episode to this one, it really tied up nicely, but since it looks like with this ending, does it spell an end for the series itself?
  • Outsourced - One of the controversial shows that aired but really -- even though it struck a nerve, if you can't find any humor somewhere in all of this then laugh...its too bad. With it ending the way it did left it to another cliche cliffhanger but perhaps in a way, an appropriate ending to leave viewers up with interpreting how the characters ended. Another one season show, too bad to see it go. Though on an off note, I can't imagine how they'd drag it past 2 seasons. Oh well, maybe some late night shows were right, this was basically The Office ... in India.
  • Big Bang Theory - Now I must say ~ I did admit I saw a little bit this happening considering they were building it up to this point. Frankly, even though it was kinda in a way a teeny obvious to see the set up lead to the obvious tension near the end, overall, the season was enjoyable with the reoccuring new cast members that made the initial 5 quite enjoyable to watch ~ nerd humor. I heart nerds, I do.
Either way - with Fall programming coming to an end, I look forward to next Fall. Chuck series ending, where all the other shows that did survive the rating will be going. But for now - summer is here & you know what this means -- comic con for some of these cast members to be ending up in. Yay!

Thought of the day ...

Thought of the day ...

Contrary to belief, I'm not a horrible human being, nor am I petty, nor am I popular or anything of that sort. I've always contributed myself to be the type to have been always observant, watchful & thoughtful. Whether this has positive or negative results, I've always remained for the better part of it, true to myself.

I haven't been known to 'act my age' nor show that 'age'. This is only when push comes to shove where I do have these moments of clarity, thoughtfulness & advice. Devices of my own nature that are only shown basically once in a blue moon or whenever the situation calls for such action. After-all, these moments do not need to be known on a 24/7 basis.

I've learned often people learned for themselves and quite often, by themselves in order to move on & progress further in life. So as much as the advice can be given, observances & suggestions can be voice, it doesn't change one particular thing, for ones self wellness to move forward, they have to unfortunately learn their own life lessons.

We are all in the end human. Nothing more or less regardless of how wrong someone can be, or how someone can stray so far from their own path, we humans, we have the strength to do one of two things. Stray further & be lost in that abyss, or as history has shown us time & time again, we'll find our way back to our path & be shown ultimately our own reason for being here.

Perpetually Disappointed

What the ... why!?

Wow I'm wrapping up my Fall to Spring show seasons. All I gotta say is what?! I dunno. Over analyzing & thinking how all of these shows ended. I'm frankly a little disappointed. I still have a couple of shows left to wrap up their season & the wait for next Fall begin. I'll perhaps come back to discuss this in detail.

My Monday line-ups: Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Mad Love, $#!? My Dad Says
My Thursday line-ups: Bones, Outsourced, Big Bang Theory

Big Bang Theory is wrapping up this week so ... lets hopefully end this on a good note.

A fascination for the cute & edible

Drink up!

"Drink ... to all that we have lost ... mistakes we have made ... everything will change ... but love remains the same ..." -- Gavin Rossdale "Love Remains The Same"

My fascination has recently stirred over my realization of cute things & edible things. In short. Cute food. I can't explain why other than its too deliciously cute to eat. Over my odds & ends of looking at adorable lil animals, checking the norms for friend updates & food. I think for the brief moment of idleness I found a moment of comfort while looking at all of it.

It hasn't helped that I found myself reluctantly coaxed into joining tumblr which has continued to further look at other people's reblogs & posts of events among other things that have indulged my momentary fascination. Will it help or hurt? Who knows, for now, I'm just content & that's all I am happy for.

Other than that --

I believe I have briefly mentioned on top of all that my laptop had some momentary hiccups the past month of so. Due to updates to drivers, it didn't take too kindly to my laptop at first until all the updates caught up. Which -- short to say I'm glad. Now back to what I was suppose to be doing. Drawing with my tablet.

Either way --

With May afoot & events coming up. I'm a little nervous & anxious how the summer will turn out. But for now, time to enjoy spring while it lasts.

A strange request ...

On a strange quest ...

Being a local of San Diego & my traveling has been over for quite a while. I've realized I had taken the little things for granted.

( taken awhile back )

Little things like this. Keeping in touch with online friends on a national level I had been asking for stranger requests. Like WiggleBear writing my name on white snow w/ red dye. As much as I love San Diego & how I haven't traveled outside of San Diego since '04, I miss the little moments & opportunities. So whenever I do realize or have the time to, I ask for little weird things. I think I asked WiggleBear to now write my name w/ an outline of stone next to soil & grass & take a pic. I know it may be a little strange, but its one of the things I find enjoyable.

Either way ... that's pro'ally my strange moment in May.

A Happy Mother's Day

Even though she's gone from my life, I still miss her, I still remember this day & know she was a great mother to me. I also know she would have been a wonderful grand mother too. You'll always remembered, loved & so very much missed.

Dedicated to my mom, my grandma, to all the moms out there & mother's to be:

A Mother's Love

Your arms were always open when I needed a hug. Your heart understood when I needed a friend. Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson. Your strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly.

Happy Mother's Day.
