Summer Days are nearing an end ...

So low & behold - after the company this summer, the summer convention for me has neared an end for me. Really have no plans for any fall or winter conventions so I must wait...

Going back to a life of normalcy.

I honestly say after reflecting back this 2012 summer it's been actually quite memorable & happy for me overall.

From the fun fair food to the conventions, a little bit of every memory pretty much made me smile...regardless of the roller coaster of randomness that happened during that duration.

Not to mention...

Inspired me in some way.

2013 is still far away & I still expect changes in the horizon but who knows - I have to keep Comic Con 2013 in mind for next year.

Anyways, I look forward to finishing up these current projects, posting them & everything. My laptop seems to be stable for now - so I shall not jinx that.

A more post wrap up this month & onward to August ~

San Diego Comic Con 2012

So my convention season is officially over. It's been a couple of days since San Diego Comic Con & the main question was - "How was it?". I can simply say that regardless of me complaining about the little things it was indeed quite exhausting. Don't get me wrong, it's a good kind of exhaustion if anything. It felt like everything had went by so quickly & that there are new changes for San Diego Comic Con registration..again that may not work in my favor this year.

So breaking down each day --

Preview night: Not bad - ended up people watching over at the observation deck & took some pics. I wanted to get the floor when it was busy & empty.

Day 1: Didn't really move from the staff room ... oh right did I mention this is my 3rd year as being staff this year? Either way, watched some anime, did my shift, took a break then did my 2nd shift.

Day 2: I took some time to actually hit all walls of the convention. Not as good as last year where I had actually covered the whole floor. Made some mental notes of nice things I saw over there. Other than that, did the remainder of my 2 shifts once again. 1st wasn't so bad, 2nd was quite fun & funny.

Day 3: Idle - granted I had been exhausted, hung out & relaxed eventually Masquerade Ball came around & it had been fun.

Day 4: Exhaustion hit a new high considering the fact it was the last day. Milo was sweet enough to get me some coffee but for some odd reason I still was dragging feet so much. Granted perhaps my judgement did propel to have me leave on a good note with the anime staff by picking up the only other empty shift available that day. Made a new friend & had fun.

Overall - hung out with friends & family. Milo & I made the best of it too. I think regardless of some emotional rollercoaster issues that I had been going through on top of con, its been good. Milo's still here until Tuesday & I'll miss him once he ends up leaving. :(!

CherBear's Reflections/Aspirations: July 2012

July is in full swing & plenty to cover --

Sadly to say I am not quite back ~ I am taking a bit of a hiatus. I'll continue elaborating on the ongoings & why I will be gone.

I tried to participate in the Sizzling Doodle contest over in Redbana but JUST as I thought my laptop had been in working order - another crash. So - I was back in square one - reinstalling & reparing just before getting ready for Anime Expo over in L.A.

Being technically gone for the next 4 days - hung out with family & then ended up over at Anime Expo.

Day 1 - Not bad. Late start - didn't expect the X-Games to be there. Met up with some family. Checked out cosplayers, had a new comer new to the convention scene experience Anime Expo & enjoyed it. Took some pictures, made some memorable moments then headed home.

Day 2 - Late start - but had met up with family again. Talked about SDCC plans - stuff to do & what to expect. Either way ... made it to Anime Expo, checked out the floor then remained in line for Masquerade. Met up with a in-game friend & ended the night on a good note.

I had gotten the majority updated & fixed until I finally got home - another failure kept popping up until I resolved that. It's been a day or so ... ran some test settings on livestream.

Either way - cleaning up, gonna be gone for for the next 5 days for San Diego Comic Con then another week or so cuz me & :devmilobear: are hanging out.

As I had mentioned to some good friends, I'll resume posting, drawing & livestreaming after that ... if my laptop survives. For now, my convention season is nearing an end! Gonna make the best of it!

Fried Faire Food Fun

So low & behold after 2 years - I had returned to the county faire for some fried faire food.

2010 started a journey of trying out some fried faire food - the list goes as follows:

Pork chop on a stick
Deep fried cheeseburger with bacon
Deep fried butter
Chocolate dipped bacon
Krispy Kreme Chicken Sandwich
Deep fried Klondike Bar
Deep fried Australian Potato chips w/ ranch & cheese
Funnel Cake
Deep fried oreos
Deep fried smores
Deep fried snickers
Dreamsicle
Caramel Candied Apple
Caramel Apple
Cotton Candy
Fresh Squeezed Frozen Lemonade

Now I'm not crazy - I had ended up splitting these between myself & 2 other ppl. I admit - it was all delicious, fried & comatose like.

I had every intention to go back the next year but since the fair is right within a hectic convention season - we had bypassed doing the faire that year & it's faire featured food: deep fried kool aid.

This year though - breaking it down to rounds - our fair food for 2012 ended up being a 7 round food fest of the following:

Deep fried butter x2
Jalepeno popper wrapped w/ bacon
Cheese & mushroom kabob wrapped w/ bacon x2
3lb turkey leg wrapped in bacon x2
Deep fried twinkie
Deep fried klondike bar
Deep fried kool aid
Deep fried frog legs
Deep fried oreo
Chocolate covered bacon x3
Deep fried Austrailian Potato chips w/ ranch & cheese
Garlic battered artichoke hearts
Funnel cake w/ ice cream
Cotton candy x3
Caramel apple

Yes - some are quite delicious & interesting to try. Some have been repeats from 2yrs ago, why? some of the folks hadn't tried it before & because the list that is listed above had been split between myself & 8 other people. A delicious experience & a fun time for me & my group.

Have a fun summer everyone!

Next venue -- Anime Expo 2012 this Saturday & Sunday!

Anime M² 2012 @ Anaheim Convention Center

It's been a couple of days of recovering & getting my laptop up & working. It's still a lengthy process but it is slowly getting there. I took a day to head up to Anaheim, California to stop by & check out Anime M² 2012 @ Anaheim Convention Center on Saturday to check out the Masquerade Ball.

Saturday - June 16th 2012:

Late start but close enough - myself, PieBear- & my cousin ended up at the Convention center around 1pm. There were plenty of cosplayers there & it seems a bit busier which is good. They weren't competing against Anime Expo like last year. The overall theme felt like it was Legend of Korra & My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic. I saw plenty of cosplayers dressing up like that.

First off I checked out the floor. It is a bit bigger this time around. There were more vendors from what I can tell. The middle section was filled with little games for people who bought tickets & to the other side, there's artist alley. Near the back there's bands that can set up to play, gamer areas & a My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic brony meet up.

After checking the floor out - there was only 1 panel I ended up checking out. The panel discussed about fandom in anime. Overall it was pretty fun - random surprises & discussed about how to incorporate fandom. They also turned around & discussed the bad things about certain animes. Overall - it was funny & fun - not to mention represented really well. PieBear- & my cousin ended up checking out the floor while I ended up drawing & killing time since the next event I wanted to go to was the Masquerade Ball.

Masquerade came pretty quick & there are plenty of seats. Only 13 entries & overall not too bad. Not to mention a wonderful show by a middle school marching band that ended up playing a mix of anime & video music. It felt like the Masquerade Ball is pretty short due to it only being 13 entries.

After the Masquerade Ball - ended up just hanging out & waiting because we were gonna catch the fireworks from Disneyland.

Overall - very fun for a free event. Next destination: Anime Expo in about 2 weeks.

CherBear's Reflections/Aspirations: June 2012

Lots to talk about - not so much time to do it in.

May: May ended off stressful but there's only so much I can do. As my situation hasn't changed much - I am making slow progress either way. My desktop is still going through a few hiccups but since there is in-service tech support with my internet provider, I had decided to go that route. My laptop seems to be doing okay but I'll get further into that too.

June: Since June has rolled around, I had realized I haven't been putting nearly enough time nor effort in my artwork that I should be doing. Since my collaborator has finished with school, I'm looking forward to getting a lot of things back up, ie. Youtube & moving my story forward. Here's hoping that works out well.

My desktop seems to be okay for now - but it has a big bright pinkish miltank as my desktop. Ah its a change from My Little Pony but still...as for my laptop - unfortunately it looks like my keyboard is starting to malfunction after +2 years. Hopefully whenever my situation improves, I can get it fixed, repaired or something. As for Livestreaming, my inconsistencies have been evident & I have missed being able to ramble & chat while I draw, starting next week with more changes - I'll be hopefully livestreaming in the afternoon & randomly talking then.

Comic Con is quickly approaching, Anime Expo too & I'd like to try to go to the San Diego County Fair this month as well ... whew I'm exhausted ... and all this hasn't even started yet.
